i thought this was cool
we went to the doctor today for my dad. that's me, mom, dad, and my aunt carol. the doc told us what's going on. he has level b cirrhosis of the liver. there are three levels: a, b, and c. c being the worst. he said that he can get back to 'a' with constant check on his body and all of his vitals and weight and keeping it where it needs to be. he gets put on the donor list in 4 months putting him at 6 months no alcohol. he said if for any reason it gets to c and they haven't found a donor then a blood relative can give half of their liver. what's cool about this is: i totally said i would do it. we have the same blood type and everything. i would totally give my dad half of my liver. the liver is the only organ to fully regenerate itself. it would grow back for both of us completely in 6-8 weeks. i think it's pretty amazing what doctors can do these days. we still have to get the lump gone which we will once this doctor goes over the x-rays and sees where it's located. we go to see him in a week. that's pretty much it!
