It's an empty journey to triumph if you don't plant seeds of catastrophe along the way.

I don't care how good the chocolate milk I use to wash down my macaroni and cheese is, it is not good enough to wash away the pain of expecting "Blue Box" Kraft Mac & Cheese like my late grandfather made during my formative years and then receiving StepMom-Crafted poorly-mixed organic not-elbow-noodles-nor-the-right-color-cheese macaroni & cheese.

January 2006
The tiebreaker question had seven choices.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you've never done before?

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No? um... I probably know many Mormons with new kids but close people? I have an uncle that adopted.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, though a relative did get cancer.

5. What countries did you visit?
CANADA

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Motivation and energy to back it up. Also, food. I want to see Chelsey more. And a license.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory?
The first that comes to mind is October 30th, though nothing happened that day... Just the date itself is in my head. On the 29th I saw mc chris, that's noteworthy. When I think of 2005 I think of the bricks with Pat and Aria on a sunny day, being late to English, 10th grade. When I think of an important day, I guess I'll say when Luke kissed me. That was the culmination of... a long time.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Living each moment well. Not regretting. Being happy.

9. What was your biggest failure?
probably something with potentials and perfection. Detachment.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Actually, for once, yes. I had tonsillitis and I think I missed school for real reasons on other occasions too. Nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Presents.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Many. Aria is my choice.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
A couple. Should I really say names?

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food and playthings.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
[...]

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
Flying Man by Mustin, for the end anyways.

17. Compared to this time last year:
I. are you happier or sadder? Probably happier, though last year wasn't too dismal.
II. thinner or fatter? I... I... um. Don't know.
III. richer or poorer? Probably the same.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Scholasticism and seeing people I like. More puns.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
wasting things, knowing Evan, repeating myself

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Church, then presents at Dad's, then presents at Mom's, then dinner at Dad's with a couple people over.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
Maybe.

23. How many one night stands?
None.

24. What was your new favourite TV program?
I saw a couple new that I liked but didn't watch regularly or often, and I grew to appreciate Law & Order even more. (CSI sucks. You heard it here.)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Closest thing to it, which is saying a lot because I don't hate.

26. What was the best book you read?
I don't know. I liked The Things They Carried. Probably more, it's been a while.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Luke and his internet.

28. What did you want and get?
I have a car now. I got star things. Most the presents were things I picked out myseLf and unwrapped. Many of these things were socks, which I actually don't mind getting at all.

29. What did you want and not get?
A license. I HATE THE DMV. My need to stab government workers exceeds all of yours, yes, every one of you.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
First thing to mind it Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but I don't know when it ca---NEVERMIND. KING KONG. KING KONG WINS. I liked Run Lola Run a lot too.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
I was at a cabin, less than planned people were there but it was nice anyways to have them. I think I'll do cake sometime soonish.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More ability to not be home. I don't like hiding. More negotiating, because I actually enjoy discussing things with parents.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
I wear stuff that doesn't smell bad. Preferably it will match, fit and all come together into a -look-, but if it doesn't I'm not too put off. I guess I look eclectic. O wait, just remembered, Aria's little pals saying I was "punky". ??

34. What kept you sane?
Myself. Other people a bit too, especially that inner circle.

35. Which celebrity/public figure(s) did you fancy the most?
Milla Jovovich, Dominic Mon-ah-ghin (sp.?), a couple other people I guess.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Nothing? A couple things but not enough to consider myself shaken.

37. Who did you miss?
Chelsey. I always miss her. Dad.

38. Who was the best new person(s) you met?
I don't know but I can think of the worst! ^_^
Morbid Cody. New relatives. Who is new???

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
hmm, I don't know but I'll make one up on the spot.
Keep on truckin'. You're perfect just how you are and everything does work out for the best regardless plot twists and conflicts along the way. There is always a sequel, even if it's only horrible fanfic.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Life is but a moment
A single grain of sand
That slips right through the hourglass
And slips right through your hand
You've shown me how
To make each moment count
And I know now
What life's all about
Life is but a twinkle
The winking of an eye
A star that lights the universe
A flash across the sky
You came to me
Just like a shooting star
You gave to me
The love that's in your heart
When you live for love
How precious life can be
When you give your love
I truly do believe
If only for a moment
It's a miracle to see
So shine for all the world tonight
And live for love
Give your love to me

Ooh ooh ooh, can I do Run Lola Run lyrics? Hmm, those and that, all of them. No quotes. Well, here, little, for end:
Everything is perfect now
I dont want to make a movement
I'm too scared to breathe; I might do something wrong
As you're sleeping silently
Perfect beauty laid before me
I feel every second is a life time long

I need to finish off my Neuro project. Need free time in immediate future. Can't be tied down with responsibilities of paper-accomplishment weight.
