Bah! senses and emotions arent wonders! Damn humans with their snooty ideas on how great emotions are, "love this" and "laughter that". Well heres a thought... emotions are stupid. Yeah thats right. And of course, you'll all be like "OMG HE DISAGREES WITH ME AND MY BELIEFS! HE MUST BE BITTER, CYNICAL AND TWISTED AND OTHER BAD THINGS"

Seriously though, the irony is the only emotions that have a PRACTICAL purpose are the ones considered negative: hate, fear, anger. per example, fear tells you when to to run (you'd be dead if you didn't fear things like jumping off bridges untethered), anger pumps adrenaline in through the body (which increases alertness, reflexes as well as reducing pain refluxes). And hate is an emotional "tag" given to those who are dangerous, or for some other reason, should be kept away from. Happiness, laughter, and love, do not benefit the survival of the person feeling them (although laughter helps the immune system, but who laughs when they're sick?) (love - non-plutonic - was designed to encourage procreation, but it does not always select the logically superior genes...), (happiness serves no real practical purpose)

and the whole "Kyle" story proves my point. If the bullies hadnt felt a need for security and superiority, they never would have bullied Kyle, and if sadness and inferiority didnt exist, then he wouldnt have felt suicidal.

But apart from that, the human body is very very cleverly designed, with comparatively minimal external maintenence required and good self-preservation syntax.

PS. There's no point in being close-minded, thats just stupid.

indeed...

well i hate to disagree with what you said, but then, i disagree...

all emotions serve a purpose, all serve a pratical purpose, yet i cant be bothered o get into that here, and i mainly just wanted to mention that also, the emotion known as love produces at times more adrenilln that fear..
