guess who picked their courses for the summer/fall???
I DID!!!
i really like picking them early because i'm bored of most of my now classes, so it gives some (temporary) excitement for classes to come..
1) History of Modern European Philosophy: A survey of European philosophy from Immanuel Kant (mid-18th century) to the late 19th century.
2) Philosophy of Law: An examination of philosophical theories concerning the nature of law and morality. The course may also include an examination of the way in which controversial ethical and social issues are treated under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
3) Immunology 1: An introduction to the immune response of the vertebrate host, the cells and tissues of the lymphoid system, humoral and cell-mediated immunity, the concept of immunity to diseases and current techniques in immunology.
4) Structure and Function in Biochemistry: This course develops the understanding of biochemical processes, by examining the enzymatic molecular mechanisms underlying specific cellular and physiological systems. Examples may include oxygen binding/transport and the evolution of globin genes/proteins; regulation of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism; proteins that change shape, including enzymes, membrane proteins, and prion proteins, blood clotting; neurotransmission.
5) Biomedical Histology: Basic tissue types and major organ systems, will be examined focusing on structural/functional relationships. Human and common experimental mammals will be emphasized.
i'm super excited for phil of law because posted on lj (the guelph community) about the course and whether or not you need any knowledge of law (cause i have none). some guy responded and said that you don't, and he sent me all his typed lecture notes, midterm study guide, and final study guide. hes my new best friend. lol.
i'm not particularily thrilled for immunology. i'm not really all that interested in it, but there are 2 courses for it and i need more science courses so i can graduate (...eventually).
i'm SUPER excited for histology. i wasn't sure if i could get in, but i did today (i picked the rest of my classes on thursday). this class has a lab, so that'll be good since i haven't had a lab since last year. and the midterm and final are in the lab. we get to look at different cells and stuff, and since i really like cell bio, it might help with that.
in the summer, i'm taking a philosophy course and a genomics course. the genomics one should be pretty easy. and they're both DE, so that automatically makes it easy. lol
in other news, i randomly sprained my ankle and i don't know how. its been sore since friday, and its super swollen, so i had to go to shoppers today to get a tensor bandage. so yeah, it better get fixed.
