update-a-date
hello again!
its been a while so, its a "post-by-numbers"!!!
1. reading week was ok. didn't get to do much, because of the huge midterm i have on thursday that i studied for all week. i also made my resume, so that took a while. i studied almost every day, and i still don't know shit-all for my exam, and i'm kinda freaking out a bit. i got to see christine on the tuesday night and we watched "Man of the Year" (that movie with robin williams as president). it was pretty good, but a lot different from the previews. then i went downtown with christine on thursday night to a show at lees palace for some band that carlo knows. they were really good. neil, jon, lambert, bernie, and carlo were there too, so it was good seeing most people again. kinda ackward with bernie, but whatevs. christine read the going-home go bus times wrong, so we missed the last one and stayed at her grandmas apartment over night and caught the 1st bus back in the morning. quite the adventure. and we saw todd from the dean blundell show at the eaton centre! three cheers for seeing local celebrities!!
i missed seeing most people i wanted to see because of all the studying, so i kinda regret that but i couldn't really have helped it anyways. i'm officially done exams on april 18 (early this year!) so i can see people then (and its kinda soon....maybe?)
2. found out my parents are going to europe for about 3 weeks in july. they're going to london for a conference, and its their 25th anniversary this year, so they figured that since they're already going to be other there, they might as well make a trip out of it. it looks like they are going to be in london for a couple days, then greece/turkey (apparently turkey is nicer... i had no idea) and then to italy. we visited my step-great grandmother on saturday when the brought me home, and she showed us where here and my great grandfather were born in italy, so they want to go there. my brother and i are really jealous cause we aren't going, so we've been threatening throwing a kegger. clearly that won't happen (cause i don't want my house destroyed, and my neighbours are nosy and one of them is a cop) but i will probably have some sort of gathering, especially since they will be gone for canada day! if you can read this, you're invited.
3. i was sooooo happy that alan arkin won an oscar last night and that little miss sunshine won best screenplay. i was quite surprised for that. i kinda wanted kate winslet to win best actress since shes been nominated so many times. and i LOVE reese witherspoons new hair. its really really nice.
4. i got an e-mail from my phil of sci prof and he said "hopefully you injoyed your break". lol. he spelt Enjoyed wrong. lol. you think a phd student would know better than that. i laughed.
