Does it annoy anyone else how much they're marketing the whole "first tapper in SYTYCD history" this season?? Obviously, because it's not true

EXACTLY! She was a tap dancer and I had the same reaction when they started pulling the "first tap dancer" thing.

I'm pretty sure the whole point is what you said. She didn't go in as a tapper. Sure she had trained in it but it wasn't the label she used on the show.

SYTYCD is notorious for only focusing on one genre of training and ignoring others.

THIS!!! That is what annoyed me so much S4. When they kept saying over and over Joshua was just a street dancer even though he often said he had taken multiple types of dance classes.
