Thought Stirring Question: Public

Oct 10, 2010 21:46

Bullying is one of the most common types of abuse - and it's also one that, until recently, was very much overlooked. Bullying can cover all types of abuse - covering name calling, pranks, inappropriate touching, hitting, scaring, relentless mocking, and more. Bullying is often pervasive, long-lasting, and many times, authority figures refuse to stop it.

So many people, of all backgrounds, have been bullied, but so few get the validation that what they survived was abuse. While bullying may be common, it is NOT okay.

This week's questions are:
- Were you bullied? How old were you when it started, and how long did it last?

- How did your bullies choose to hurt you? Were you ever able to have resolution with that bully?

- How did you cope with the feelings bullying brought up while you were being bullied, and how did you cope with the remaining feelings after the bullying stopped?
