The French woman had said

This only left….
So that was why he’d walked up to Sayid in the middle of preparation to kiss him squarely on the mouth.
Run Hide or Die…..
That was why he didn’t run when those dark eyes narrowed.
Why he wasn’t hiding when the smile that followed brightened them.
Why he was still standing there when the sentiment was returned.
And maybe that’s why he felt a little like he was dying.
