Czech out how awesome my film teacher is. Her specializations are documentary, French new wave (meh), horror, and right now she is studying the representation of female pleasure in pornography from stag to modern. I'm glad you love them. :D Even if no one ever commented on them I'd probably continue because it's actually something I enjoy doing!

So yeah, I completely agree but I think the way sexual violence is presented plays a huge part. Rape happens and it's awful and it should be presented as a brutal, horrible thing in film. But I don't know.. there's so many movies that make violence against women/rape into something that's supposed to tittilate the audience. It just seems like a lot of films make rape scenes pornographic/almost sexy? I can't figure out how to word that but it creeps me out! haha. Hopefully you get my drift.

I used to be reallyyy into shock cinema but it's settled down the last couple of years. Well correction, I still like exploitation/shock cinema as long as there's a sturdy plot. I'm just so over the fake snuff, goregoregore with no substance kind of movies. The only talent within stuff like that are the FX people and they'd be better off with a real script anyway!

You would probably love Marebito by the way! It's really artsy but creepy.
