It's said in my aim profile for a few days now to expect a new journal post or website update soon and it looks like the journal post won out.
The end of the spring semester rapidly approaches, with a little more than one month to go! Summer is just around the corner! It's soooo close, I can feel it! And at the same time, it's soo freaking far away. This next month is by far gonna be the toughest of 'em all (for me anyway), and by month, I'm referring to the time between April 12th and May 12th, plus finals which start soon after that. By the amount of work and tests I've taken I only feel as if about 1/2 of this semester is over so far. Yet we're down to one measley month. My professors certainly like to cram all of the tough stuff into the end of the semester.
Haven't done much yet with trying to meet new people, er, girls rather at clubs on campus and whatnot (as my last post discussed), but I haven't had much time for this either. The end of last week kept me extremely occupied with work and the excitement rushing through me for having this week off seemed to impair my ability to do work about 1 day too early. By Thursday afternoon, I was ready to go home and be done with all things related to school for a week. But unfortunately for me, I had some stuff I still had to do for Friday and, *gasp, Monday. Damn electronic hand-ins. The whole getting done part of these assignments didn't go too well, although I did manage to pull off what I believe to be a satisfactory job in the end. The funny thing about the assignment due Friday (a program), was that I stayed up all night Thursday into Friday morning to get it done and I just couldn't maintain focus and concentrate on it, yet during all of Friday, I didn't feel the least bit tired, nor have the desire to sleep. I even stayed up till around 2am on Friday night. Wow, 38 hours, that's gotta be the longest I've stayed awake for without feeling the need to sleep.
And now, onto what is probably the most interesting part of this post. That being the fact that I keep finding out about more awesome music that I've been missing out on since high school. I've finally come to appreciate the music of Green Day and The Smashing Pumpkins (laugh if you must), which before yesterday, were just names of bands that I've heard of, but never heard the music of, before or at least not known I was hearing their music at the time. It's funny, hearing a song once or twice in your life, not having a clue as to who sings it, or what it's called, and then years later, listening to it again and saying to yourself, "hey, I've heard this song before!" Maybe someday I'll actually feel like I know a great deal of good music...
Oh yeah, and one more thing. Thanks everyone for your advice on the last post! I feel like I've got a much better idea now of what I should be doing to "accomplish my mission."
