While it may mean absolutely nothing to you now, the same way it meant nothing to me when I heard it what seems like so long ago, it really isn't about you. It is about him. But not about how you can't make him happy, it's about he can't be happy with himself. I don't know this boy, I have only heard the few things that you've said about him here and there. But it's obvious the kid has a lot to work out on his own. And I'm sure what I'm going to say is going to piss you off even more, but you must remember it's only highschool. It took me forever to realize it, and even now I keep on having to remind myself 'It's only college.' We still have the rest of our lives to find the person (or people) we want to be with, and it's so early you don't need to worry about it so much right now.
I know it hurts, and I'm sure it fucking hurts a lot. But if anything, that just makes it real. It makes you real. And in the end this will be another experience that makes you who you are, it'll help you realize what you want and what you don't want in a relationship, and it'll make you stronger as a person. You're gonna be fine, I know you will. You just need a little bit of time. And if you understand what I'm saying, and just want to find the "one" you want now, then you also must keep in mind something it took me a long time to figure out. And it is best put in words by a song by The Used... so forgive me if I sound hokey and retarded but "you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it, it won't come your way. You'll never find it, if you're looking for it."
Things happen to you when you least expect them to, but if you're seeking it out, the chances of you finding it are going to be even smaller because you may not be in the place that you were "supposed" to be had you not been looking for it... did that make any sense? To do a really lame New York analogy, when you're in the city, and you need a cab, it's almost impossible to find one. But when you don't need one, and you're just sitting on the sidewalk smoking a cigarette, at least 4 cabs will come up asking if you need a ride.
So just wait, the cab (and the boy) will come to you. ... and now I'm done blathering on.
