Its snowing beautiful today ! For the first time since i've been here, i felt a season change. its strange how summer sinks into autumn and all the leaves are still on the trees, colorless. but its so beautiful all at the same time, in a different kind of way. michael called to share his excitement. he's from florida and he's freaking out. i love it when people freak out like that. i love to be around when people experience something so mundane to me (like michigan snow) for the first time and they freak out. I really love my job. A girl that just started working with us has a parent that owns half of sun records, and she's going to try and help me out. I've also met a few others who have hookups online and other places that really enjoy what i do. Ya know, at first, I thought this place was terrible, musicwise....but its got these undiscovered nooks and crannies for underground music, like exactly what i do. Its starting to come together.
I get so excited reading about other musicians, and i've been talking to a folk singer in Britain about being a female singer/songwriter and the kind of freedom it entails. Its strange how only a certain type of person can actually pull it off, and sound good. I feel so gifted, I know i beat up on myself a lot, but I really am grateful of the talent God gave me.
Clay and I are fucking idiots. He came in last night and plopped on my bed (he's like a little brother) and told me of how his ex girlfriend was trying to cockblock his booty call, and her boyfriend was trying to get him laid. Its quite funny....
There are so many interesting people here, that are just like me. most of them live in midtown (the art/music hub of memphis) but man, midtown is great to party in. I think i'm falling in love with memphis. I mean, i want to go on the road, but its going to be so hard to leave!
I love rainbows and butterflies and making my own dresses. I hear these stupid girls talk about how they spent like 500 bucks on a purse. I spent like 150 on a sewing machine and I've got something one of a kind for a whole lot less. I made a cute summer dress and skirt too. I'm making my sissy a blanket to keep her warm in michigan! I so don't miss it.....I miss LUdington in the summer, but man, I'm out seeing the world having my little adventures, and its so much fucking fun.
