Not enough hiking and even less now that I blew the transmission in my jeep yesterday.
Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your impressions!!! As for the edges, they come from a filed out negative carrier(which lets light through on the edge of the frame). All the b/w is printed by hand and I usually leave the borders until I do a final print for hanging. I do this for two reasons, one because I print everything full frame(a habit I picked up from a teacher who said, "cropping is for farmers.) and two because some images like the edge effect.

Cars are such a pain. I hope that will change soon because it makes me sad to hear when someone is unable to to do their favorite thing, and hiking seems to be one of yours. Please tell me some of your experiences when you find the time one of these days.
Haha, I absolutely agree with your teacher, I always thought cropping was a sign of inadequate skill. And I'm glad to hear you're so considerate of your images and their likings =p.

Which is exactly what he said, you can create the composition while you are looking at the 'scene'. I guess you could also mull over what you should keep or not later. Although, I do make exceptions for portraits, multiple sizes and all.
I laid out in the sun today, that's not too bad. Transmission, tomorrow.

Great series you've been posting lately. Have you been hiking quite a bit? Where do the edges of the photos come from?
