As most of you know music plays a big role in my life. When I'm down I either want to be with friends, or at a show. Either of the two turns my spirit around.

As much as I try to avoid all the shit that goes on besides the music it is tough. The bottom line is that shows are an event where bands display their talent and interest to thosee to which it appeals.

I'm feeling that all is lost, the REAL reason why we drop money to see bands no longer previals. Ok, so all the shit I see going wrong.

1. All respect is lost. Get off of your fucking sidekick and watch/listen to the band. Theres nothing like a musician looking out into the crowd and seeing its audience transfixed on their moble devices.

2. Once again... All respect is lost. You may be standing in front of people who actually care to watch the performance, so don't stand there and hold a conversation with someone for the duration of the show battling the music.

3. For a third time... All respect is lost. You don't like a band, okay fine. That doesn't give you right to bash and disrespect them while they are doing what they love and playing music they feel is right.

4. Nobody cares that you know 347820352975 people at the show. It doesn't make you any cooler.

5. It is not a place to scope out boys. Yea, go ahead, meet people, talk to people, friends are a huge part of attending shows. But seriously if you are just trying to impress someone or fuck someone, go to the mall. Nobody likes a slut.

6. Refrain from drama. The music scene can be such a fun, positive place if you leave your shit at the door.

7. Originality. Don't be something you are not. Acceptance comes with individual personality. I personally don't like meeting 500 people who think "Hardcore is the best" without any general knowledge of what kind of history we are actually creating.

8. Be aware of your surroundings. If people are dancing and you don't want to get hit... move. Don't wait till you get hit then cry about it.

9. 'Brotherhood'. The scene, as far as friends go, is all about support. If you fall (physically, emotionally, mentally), I will pick you up... and expect the same in return.

I see a lot of bands changing their music. Developing as musicians. It really is a wonderful thing. My interest is to know who is going to stick around through thick and thin. Who is here for the harmonies and who is really passionate for hardcore and metal roots.

I guess only time will tell. I will probably never have a perfect experience at a show, but its okay because I have trained myself to zone out everthing while a band is on. Paradise includes me and the band on stage.

Something to think about? Maybe?
