so, maine is, as expected, more boring than ever. i work once, maybe twice a week, enough to feed habits anyway. i don't really have a reason to work too much yet, with tax returns coming in and billy's opening in early april. so, i basically sit around and smoke weed, play madden, and watch curb your enthusiasm all day, and drink all night. it may sound fun, but it gets a little boring after a while. especially when you have to look past that delicious bottle of jager or jack daniel's and reach for the disgusting bottle of poland springs vodka (a whopping $7 per liter), or pay for an 18 pack of miller high life in dimes. and especially when the only girls left in town are ones who my cohorts and i would have to probably think twice about before engaging in extracurriculars with. it seems a little like work sometimes, even.
once in a while i'll visit friends and drink at usm or even umo when i feel up to the drive, but that usually ends up with me drunk and passed out on the floor, which is most likely the story anyway, without the long ass drive. all i really have to look foward to are small things, like real work starting again, the possibility of a trip to the carribbean, and the certainty of a trip up to James & Eddy's Icefishing in Gardiner next Friday, which entails lots of drinking and smoking, only this time with fishing lines, a kerosene heater, and a load of drunken mainers. we probably have an open slot in the shack, if anyone's interested. fishing from 10pm to 4am. c'mon. it doesn't really get much more fun than that.
