Arwydd Sian Sinistra
- born 17.4.1962 in Aberystwyth, Wales; has a younger sister
- both parents magical; grandparents on her mother's side have been Muggles
- father's brother Damian Sinistra has supposedly been killed by Voldy & Co in the 70s
- went to Muggle school and has been home-schooled on all things magical until OWL level/O-level; after taking the official examinations in 1978, she entered Hogwarts for the two NEWT years, was Sorted into Ravenclaw and chose Astronomy and Arithmancy as her only NEWT subjects, while privately studying for her A-levels in maths and physics, which she passed the same year as her NEWTs - 1980
- started Muggle university studies of physics/astronomy, then was asked to teach Astronomy at Hogwarts two years later; took the job (summer 1982), but is still continuing her studies, Apparating over to the Astronomical Institute of the University of Basel (Switzerland) whenever her time allows; has finished her 'Masters in Physics, with Thesis' and is now working on her doctoral thesis; as she cannot run a computer while at Hogwarts, she spends all the holidays and many weekends in Switzerland as well
