Tutorial for this icon:

*here's my screencap:

*now to make the base, WITH THE SKIN FROM

crop to whatever you like, 100x100, and then sharpen. after sharpening
use the blur tool, size4, set to luminousity 30% and carefuly brush
over the face and neck, avoiding the eyes, the nose holes, tthe lips
and pretty much everything that can be ruined by blurring.
and that's it...the rest in the icon shown is all about the coloring.

*here's my base

*move the base a bit down to the lower right corner (teh white space
shouldn't be there i just put it so you see where ive moved mine.)

*enhance the base, i duplicated three times, the second and third were
set to screen, the top one desaturated and to soft light. i knwo it's a
little too light but it was neccessary for the coloring (the icon
wasn't even partially meant to be the way it is, i just played around
and adjusted the base at the end)

*now select the part of icon that was made transparent, make a new layer and fill it with white color

*to add the border i used one of meleada's brushes, in color black, while deleting the black part

--->
--->

*add an exclusion layer #0d004c

*gradient set to screen

--->

* texture by tre, set to multiply

--->

*thats pretty much ok with the coloring, but i feel as if the texture
totally took over the icon so i copy the base again, set it on top to
soft light 60%

*add some text and there's your icon
