I haven't done this in a long time... I'm actually up, before 11 am. Last night, my friend came over to smoke some trees, and on his way out, he asked if I was down to go jogging up into the Berkeley hills in the morning.
'sure, if I can wake up', I says.
So at 7:45, my eyes opened for a minute, then I dropped off back to sleep. 5 minutes later, my door opens and I'm roused by 'OK ASSHOLE, UP AND AT EM' being screamed in my ear, and my sheets being yanked off... I knew I should have locked my door.
20 minutes later, 3 of us are at the trailhead, my friend, my potlady and I.
45 minutes after that, I gasped my way up the last stretch of the hill. They smoked a blunt while we all enjoyed the view, then we stumbled down to a field/track on the Clark Kerr campus. Several laps later, we agreed it was time for breakfast, and now, I am sitting here enjoying my food coma with a cup of excellent Peet's coffee on my friends laptop.
Something that is bothering me:
A few months ago, my potlady got robbed by someone who was staying with her. She had lent him $2000 already, and left her safe open one morning, and when she woke up, she'd found her safe empty of the $2000+ in cash and 1.5 lbs of trees.
For 3 weeks, we listened to her go through the feelings of being robbed by someone she trusted... we discussed how we might go about getting it back for her (difficult since the shameless bastard is armed) but the issue gradually petered out.
Still, she took a net loss of over $5000 from this fiasco.
And now?
She's fucking him again.
She's fucking herself.
Her great grandmother just died and left her a heap of cash.
He evidently has no shame, coming back around after robbing her.
Why else would he be coming around, but to set her up again?
I've been thinking about this a lot recently, and while we were trekking up the hill, I voiced my opinions to her. She said she didn't want to hear it, and couldn't even look me in the eye when i asked her
'isn't getting robbed by this motherfucker once enough? Do you really need to see how it feels to get robbed twice?'
to which she answers
'I don't think it's going to happen again'
I reply
'are you kidding me? you didn't think it was going to happen the first time around!'
I'm done with saying anything about it, I know her well enough to know she knows I am right, yet... *sigh*
I do not want to hear about this when she gets jacked a second time.
Some things I am happy about.
Last weekend ruled.
Wednesday will be interesting
