So, I finally got to see Star Wars Ep. III last friday and a second time on wednesday! Though I have to say, the first time I saw it, I wasn't that impressed. Maybe I just focussed too much on the things I didn't like. Anyways, I saw it again, and I love it. It's such a good movie! Although it's definately not perfect, and there are some things that really annoyed me. And ofcourse, it's not better than the Original Trilogy, but I wasn't really expecting that.
The Good...
1.
The scene with Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan! The best... my favourite scene. So intense! So so sad!!
Padme: Anakin, you're breaking my heart. You're going down a path I can't follow.
Anakin: Because of Obi-Wan?
Padme: Because of what you've done, what you plan to do. Stop. Stop now. Come back!
2.
And then on to Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting... guh... And then the end of the fight...
Obi-Wan: I have failed you, Anakin. I have failed you.
*cries*
3.
Obi-Wan General Kenobi. ♥ Just... love him. Everything about him. And his little jokes. The way he sits in his council chair!! Guhh...
4.
Yoda. Kicks. Ass. Enough said. I also found it hilarious that there are bits of smoke rising from him after he gets fried by the Emperor. Hehehe.
5.
R2!!! ♥ ("No loose wire jokes - he's doing the best he can" - Awwww!!!)
6.
The whole elevator scene. Am loving the Anakin - Obi-Wan conversation. =D
Anakin: Easy... We're in a bit of a situation.
Obi-Wan: Did I miss something?
7.
Have I mentioned General Kenobi? =P
...and The Bad
1.
The dialogue. It's either non-existent or really weak. Well, most of it anyways, not all. But it's the one thing that threatened to ruin the entire movie. George Lucas cannot write a good screenplay!!
Anakin: You are so... beautiful.
Padme: It's only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
OH MY GOD!! PLEASE NO MORE CHEESE!!! What is wrong with this?! Is he incapable of writing a good love scene that isn't completely mushy? As if the "I truly, deeply, love you" in Episode II wasn't bad enough! If Natalie Portman's acting wasn't very good in the first half of the movie, who can blame her? With lines like these? Anakin could have done with a few better lines as well in the beginning.
2.
Padme's death was really disappointing to me. I still can't figure out whether Padme actually died of childbirth or because she "lost the will to live". I don't like either. I mean, childbirth? Couldn't they come up with something better? What about all those medical droids anyways? Surely they could save her. And why would she lose the will to live?! Okay, so Ani turned a little evil, his eyes changed colour and all, but come on she's just had twins! How out of character is it for her to not want to live for Luke and Leia? She saw them, she even named them! How can anyone not want to live after that...
3.
One moment Anakin is all "What have I done?" and the next second he's all "I pledge myself to your teachings" and goes off to kill Younglings! Please, insert *at least* another 10 minutes!
4.
Would it really kill George Lucas to focus on some more characters? Give them a few seconds of dialogue, it's not that hard! There are so many other Jedi! Especially in Council scenes and the scene where they *attempt* to arrest Palpatine. But apparently any Jedi other than Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda or Mace Windu is incapable of putting up a good fight. I mean, sometimes I even thought that R2 could defend himself better than some of the Jedi.
5.
Not so much bad as funny, Darth Vader's "NoooooOOOOOOOOOOO!!!". LOL I swear I was about to burst out laughing!! And the Emperor's voice when he's talking to Anakin, "A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth... Vader", LMAO!!
I really need to see this movie again...
