Sooo I'm seeing Deerhunter on my birthday (Monday) with Johnny, Brendan, Gabby and Jack. I'm so fucking excited... I can't imagine a better way to celebrate. Like, Deerhunter's my favorite band right now, and I get to see them on my birthday in Brooklyn with all my best friends.
Tonight Johnny, Brendan, Dan and I were walking to my place. We smoked a joint on the way walking through little East Village side streets. We were about a block away from my apartment and stopped in at this little record store that proved to be amazing. When we realized they were open we walked in and were like kids in a candy store. The guy who owned the place loved us because we were so enthusiastic about everything-- I guess we're kind of like the target audience for that sort of place, considering all we do is sit around and listen to records and talk about music lately. The clerk and I looked through Paper magazine together and I could tell he was loving me (what gay man doesn't it seems like) and at the end he told us he'd put us on the list for his gig he's DJing at Mr. Black's this weekend! I'm so excited.
I need to really bust my ass this next week. I have a lot of work to do. Two Catering events, and a lot of end of semester printing and shooting. Meh, whatevs.
