Too Much

May 15, 2004 22:06

Exactly as the subject suggests, too much has been going on. I'm dead tired at the moment, but I figured I should update this before I went to bed or something like that. Yeah, not that many people actually read this anyway...

Yeah, I went to the band thing yesterday. It was pretty fun. The best parts were the 'social hours,' of course. The marching was bleh, but it was definitely made up for. There was some dance thing afterwards. The teacher had told us that food and drink were free. WRONG! It turned out that it was actually 2 dollars per drink! So I had to go back to the bus - alone, because no one else was willing to come - and get my money. Guess what? The bus driver wasn't there! So I was locked out. Ended up borrowing 10 dollars from one of the teacher, and then paying her back later on when I could get into the bus. Anyway, got back to the dance and got drinks for me and a couple other people (Sorry Sarah! You know why now, though. Hehe... >.> Woulda got you somethin but I ran outta moneh!!!). Luckily, there wasn't more than 5 of us, so I didn't have to pick and choose or anything. Alright, so the dance itself was pretty lame, but the fun part was talking and walking around. Two of the people I was talking to were REALLY getting along, so I yelled at them to just dance already because a slow song came on. And guess what? It worked! Hehe. Okay, so it probably wasn't because I said something, but it makes me feel good to think I did. Don't ruin my pride, people! Anyway, it was actually pretty cute to watch.

Got back on the bus about an hour or so after the dance had started. We weren't allowed to stay very long because we still had a good drive ahead of us. I was stuck in the front with a bunch of really quiet people (yeah, Sar, talk every once in a while! Music ain't everything!), and when I did try to go back the first time, I got yelled at after about .. 5 minutes? Which really stunk, because I was having fun at the time. The second time I went back I didn't get caught, but everyone was starting to go to sleep. Oh yeah, that was a fun trip...

Alright folks, it's official. The Meg has a heart ... and a crush. >.< I'm not going to give out the name here, just in case somehow this person gets a hold of my journal later on. That would be pretty embarassing. Course, it's not like many people read this thing anyway. I think I'm going to change that soon, though.. Yanno, start giving the address away to lots of people, see if anyone actually bothers to check it. Who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky.

Anyway, yeah, that's right. You heard me (Soup, if you give the name away I'm sooo gonna kill you..). Anyone know how to fix this problem?

On with the last two days. I managed to get myself a whole 5 hours of sleep last night. That's right. 5 friggin hours! Had to get up around 6 again this morning. Yeah, on a Saturday! I haven't had enough sleep all week, and this was less than the other nights.

Well, I never seem to be able to sleep on buses, and that's exactly what we got on. I ended up playing Tetris and listening to music most of the way to the meet while everyone else slept. The stupid bus driver decided to get lost on the way, so we ended up driving back and forth for a while before someone was smart enough to call and ask. Aren't they supposed to know this sort of stuff?

I didn't have my uniform with me. Shows how smart I am. So I had to borrow someone else's after they were done with their races because mine was towards the end of the meet. The coach put me in the 2 mile this time. I swear she's crazy. That was the most embarrassing race of my life. We ran JV and Varsity together because there were only 3 of us JV runners. I ended up getting lapped once by the other JV runners and TWICE by a couple of the Varsity ones running, like, 11 minute 2 miles. Crazy people. So yeah, that was embarrassing. There I was, just running along by myself on my last lap or so while everyone else drank their water and talked to their coaches and everything. She had better not make me run that ever again. I was soooo embarrassed...

What was really weird, though, was just before that. I was warming up - all pissed off at my coach and stuff, exhausted because I'd been stretched a bit far for the past week, and, well, everything else - when all of a sudden, for reasons that I wasn't even sure of, I started to break into tears. I stopped when I got around to the rest of the team, and they all looked at me like there was something seriously wrong with me. Okay, not all of 'em did, but I think that most of 'em were thinking that. I would have been thinking the same thing if someone had told me that. Someone suggested that maybe it was overexhaustion mixed with everything else going on in that weird little head of mine (well, they didn't word it like that..), and I think they were right. I have no idea how I even managed to run that whole 8 laps around the track without passing out. In fact, on the last lap I began to get really dizzy. Must've been a miracle or something.

On the upside, I got 3rd place!

On the downside, there were only 3 of us...

Right after the race, the pain that I've had in my hip - it's been there quite a while, but has been really minor - had grown to an extreme. It still hurts, but I took a walk earlier this evening after I got back home to try and walk it off. I don't know how well it worked, because my mind was everywhere but the pain in my hip, but I hope that I'll be okay. I'm supposed to ice it tonight, but everyone else is asleep already. I think I'll do it tomorrow morning or something.

Oh, and just to make the weekend perfect, I've got practice tomorrow - on SUNDAY! Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? Evidentally coach doesn't think so. Yeah, I've got practice again tomorrow, and then ANOTHER meet Monday. I think that's the last one, though, so I'm pretty sure I'll survive. What's really awesome is that it'll be at the track we ran at today. I LOVE that track. The laps seem to be a lot shorter than at the other tracks I've been to. I don't know what it is about it, but it just seems that way when I run it. Well, at least when I'm only running one lap of it...

I'm getting really tired now, and it's getting pretty late. I think I've complained and explained enough for one night. I'll put in another update hopefully either tomorrow or Monday. Perhaps if you're lucky, both days. Oh yeah! Get ready for more people!

Until next time!

... I've gotta sleep...
