I always seem to go on pure nostalgia trips around this time of year, so I thought what better way to indulge it than update my poor abandonded livejournal. Can't believe I've had this thing since I was fucking 16 years old and I'm 22 on Monday. madness. I wish everyone still updated their accounts, might start a livejournal re-union scheme/tour or something. The past months have been eventful and all the rest. I finished uni and graduated which is nothing short of a miracle. Went to grad balls and dinners and stuff which was nice. Not long after I finished I went on a dig in Pollok Park just to give myself something to do more than anything else. It was quite good, and it even got in the Herald! I went to Australia to visit Lindsay for a couple of weeks in July which was amazing. Had a brutal journey home which involved a 14 hour flight to Dubai, where I was off the plane for 3 hours before catching another plane (I could have sworn that a techy teacher from school, Mr Cummings, was on the same flight as me) which took 7 hours to get to Glasgow. I'd been up for over 2 days straight by the time I got home. It was just me and Euan in the house for a couple weeks cause maw and paw were out in New Zealand, so that was a good laugh.
Attempted to find a job and failed. Me and Sue went to Italy from the 10th to the 17th of this month which was lovely. Managed to get a pure cheap caravan that was only about 15 miles outside Rome and the campsite ran a daily bus there. We had a day just doing nothing by the pool and then headed to Pompeii on our second day which was absolutely amazing. It was somewhere I'd always wanted to go. One of the only buildings that survived the eruption with its roof still in tact was the brothel, which you can go into and there's a picture menu of various posistions that you could have chosen from had you been there 2000 years ago. It was funny. There was also a stone knob built into the pavement which acted as directions to the brothel. I laughed. Anyway, we also went to Rome and saw the colloseum, the pantheon and a whole load of other stuff. It was braw!
Last Saturday was Sue's birthday night out so we headed to Waxy O'Connors where some dude from Sue's work was having a leaving night, and met up with Calum, Sandra and a few others. Headed to the Cathouse which had mad stall things that you get at the carnival for some reason. Was quite a good night. Me and Sue left quite early and went to the Noodle Bar which was 5 star. As we were waiting for our taxi up at the royal concert hall, some burd just done a pish right in full view of everyone.
Stayed with Sue that night and the next day was her actual birthday so I gave her pressies and her maw made us a fry up.
On Wednesday night I went to see Thistle v Rangers which ended up being quite gutting. Saw Chic Young looking proud of himself. Also saw my hero, Glorious Gary Harkins. A man of true passion.
Yesterday I went up some hill called Ben'an with my paw and Euan. It turned out to be really good, it was quite a short walk but there were pure amazing views from the top. Ended up having a braw time.
Today I went and handed an application form in at Waterstone's in sauchiehall street which was a joy. Got away without paying for a train ticket on the way there. 1-0. had to buy one to come home though :( 1-1
Enough of this nonsense, tomorrow I think me and Ian are going to see Thistle v Livingston at Almondvale.
I would love to promise that I'm gonna update this fucker more regularly, and I will try my best to cause it seems ashame to allow the inner 16 year old to die.
