Okay, I know that I have had a lot of political rants on here lately, and they are probley annoying the hell out of you. But last night was the State of the Union, and I don't know who heard it, but oh. my. god.
I sersiouly yelled at my radio. And since me and my dad were listening to it we got in a huge bitch fight over it. He's a Bush fan. It irkes me to death.
So here were my main problems. I won't post the whole speech, but if you wan't to you can read it here.
I believe that God has planted in every human heart the desire to live in freedom. And even when that desire is crushed by tyranny for decades, it will rise again. (Applause.)
Again with the God! GOD DOESNT PLANT ANYTHING IN ANYONE. HE MAY WELL NOT EVEN EXIST. GOD has NOTHING to do with people not wanting to be murderd, raped and pushed out of thier homes by horrible goverments. Like in Sudan... but oh, we aren't helping them yet are we?
Activist judges, however, have begun redefining marriage by court order, without regard for the will of the people and their elected representatives. On an issue of such great consequence, the people's voice must be heard. If judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process. Our nation must defend the sanctity of marriage. (Applause.) The outcome of this debate is important -- and so is the way we conduct it. The same moral tradition that defines marriage also teaches that each individual has dignity and value in God's sight.
You know blacks got thier civil rights? "Activist" judges. "Activist" judges are just judges who read the constitution and see that ALL AMERICANS DESERVE EQUAL RIGHTS! the majority is not always right if the majority had always had thier way, we would very likely still have segregated schools, women not being alloud to vote, and lots of other things we take for granted today. Homosexuals are AMERICAN just like the rest of us. If you take away thier rights you are going against the very fundamentals that America was founded on.
oh- and "value in Gods sight" AGAIN WITH THE GOD THING.
PS -you dont get the "dignity and value" to be in a legal marriage? LOVE IT.
It's also important to strengthen our communities by unleashing the compassion of America's religious institutions...Yet government has often denied social service grants and contracts to these groups, just because they have a cross or a Star of David or a crescent on the wall
Or, you know because they have lots of other political signs no thier wall-like the churches that had all the YES ON 36 signs on thier windows. Any group that shows open support for political issues doesnt deserve money from thier goverment. And if they really wanted to do what was best for the community, they would take the cross/star/cresent down to get the money.
Tonight I ask you to consider another group of Americans in need of help.
Homosexuals?? Haha just kidding! He was talking about helping convicted felons, not hardworking American citizens that happent to like the same-sex! Silly me!
And in all that is to come, we can know that His purposes are just and true. PUKE PUKE PUKE. ONE WOULD THINK THAT WE WERE A "CHRISTIAN NATION" --WHICH WERE NOT. It really freaks me out that he believes that God has so little to do that he meddles in the politics of nations. Plus, I don't believe in God. So I hope that someone else out there has just and true purposes.
Ugh. I seriously wanted to puke.
