I don't know how many of you listend to Bush's innageral address yestorday, but I did. (He used the word freedom something like 45 times, by the way, but don't tell that to the homosexuals who dont have the freedomto marry). Anyway, I found somethings a little ironic.
He stated that: "All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you." ...unless you are one of the estimated 1.9million dead, or one the the two million forced out of their homes in Sudan. Then...sorry, I guess the United States isn't going to help you.
He then said that, "The leaders of governments with long habits of control need to know: To serve your people you must learn to trust them." Right, okay. I agree with that. Lets start that right here in the good old USA. How about you trust Oregon voters who have twice approved Doctor-Assisted Suiside in Oregon to know what they want. That means you don't try and overturn thier decision.
"Some have shown their devotion to our country in deaths that honored their whole lives - and we will always honor their names and their sacrifice." Is that why he has yet to attend the funeral of any of the Iraqi military personal killed?
"To give every American a stake in the promise and future of our country, we will bring the highest standards to our schools"I'm sorry--did he say SCHOOLS? Is that why schools are now having to make the largest cuts possibly ever...and why the No Child Left Behind Act...well don't even get me started on how much that sucks. So we can move on from that...
He goes on to say that "That edifice of character is built in families"--again, as long as you arent a homosexual trying to have a family. Then you're going to hell. Look in the Bible, thats what it says! And although we know our God-loving president hasnt read the Bible very carefully, he sure got that sentance.
I HATE BUSH.
But, I love America.
