“Officer Sun.”

She ignores him while she completes a set of repetitions with the small weights. Only then does she turn to face Scorpius.

“You have been studying the materials I sent to your quarters. What is your assessment?”

Aeryn meets his gaze straight on. “If the information is complete, if it is accurate, then I am forced to agree with you.”

[_scorpius]

He lifts his chin, surprise evident in blue eyes. “Then…you will help me persuade John to help our people?”

[_scorpius]

She shakes her head. “He will not stay here.” Lifting a hand before he can speak, she continues, slow and deliberate. “If John agrees to assist in your research, we must be allowed complete independence.”
