I have just written a comparative essay/critique over Shakespeare's Macbeth and "Throne of Blood" by Akira Kurosawa for Japanese class. They were actually very interesting. Kurosawa was a director who took painstaking efforts to layer symbolism in his films. Fascinating stuff.
Briefly-- due to a couple of media-related assignments, I am fairly certain that if the public does not do something about it, commercials will become virtually inescapable. They already infiltrate TV of course, and are beginning even now to go into film. We don't even notice it, but celebrities use brand-name products in films to get the consumer subconsciously. It's ridiculous. Lol, I'm turning into an anarchist. ^_^
Guys & Dolls is going very well. I'm very proud especially of Jess Vetters, my main acting partner in this particular role. I really feel we balance eachother well onstage. If you have never seen Jess act, he's amazing.
