(no subject)
so i am pretty excited to see a spike lee lecture this monday. should be interesting. he is really talented and i always appreciated some of the things he has done, i.e 'do the right thing' and 'malcolm x'.
classes are going very well, i love them all (excluding a shitty digital/photoshop course). yesterday in my american creativity class my teacher put up this slide of Oppenheimer and asked if anyone knew who this man was. the entire class, with something like 40 kids in it had no fucking clue. i never speak up in that class, but i got pissed that no one knew who he was and said the answer. my teacher seemed relieved. honestly, thats so very sad. you wouldn't believe the lack of knowledge people have of history. people don't know shit about any of the wars. i actually had to clarify the difference between the korean and vietnam war to some girl. wtf. polaroid 55 film is sucking my life away, because i need/want/own so much now. luckily i don't have to spend a dime on papers. got that shit covered. it feels so good to be in the darkroom again. three months from it was entirely too much, i guess thats why i felt so pissy about my work. hopefully that will be changing. also, when i went home on mlk day my dad gave me his '71 yamaha acoustic, its pretty beautiful and jay has been showing me a few new chords i didn't know.
neat. ok. got my diana+ camera in the mail a couple days ago. i like the idea of it, we'll see though.
