My neighbors are annoying!!

8:11 - sawing/sanding something
8:13 - kids running in flipflops, still sanding
8:16 - sanding more vigorously
8:23 - several kids screaming
8:27 - doors slamming, sirens in the background. maybe it's the police!!
8:30 - kids still screaming sporadically
8:37 - I think they went inside.

They also have a very obnoxious squeeky ball. I guess they got bored with it.

Well, in other news, yesterday my car wouldn't start after I had gone grocery shopping. It just wouldn't start, so I called for a tow truck from the other side of South Portland. He said they'd have someone look at it that day. This was around 4pm, so when 5pm rolled around and the tow truck still hadn't arrived, I called again. My cell was dead so I had to use the payphone inside Hannaford. He said that they had sent the truck to the Shaws at Mill Creek. I said again that I was at the Hannaford by the Mall. Totally different areas. So eventually 45 minutes later he shows up and takes my car. He says that someone will look at it first thing in the morning, and to call then.

So this morning I call and come to find out that they are closed all weekend. So I talk to the tow truck driver, he is very nice and offered to pick up a battery for me and install it. However, the owner of the shop wouldn't allow him to. So he says that he can release my car to me and jump it so I can take it someplace else (it just needed a new battery!) but the key (my only one) is in a drop box. I guess he fished it out.

So after work, I convince someone to drop me off over there, and even with a google map of the area, we still can't find it easily. Damn South Portland and it's weird streets. So anyways, eventually we get there and he has my car started. I pay him for the tow and the jump, and drive back to the mall to Sears.

Of course my car is "special" and everything is really expensive for it. The only battery that was appropriate was $100, plus 20 odd dollars in installation fees, recycling fees, and taxes. But the good news is that the battery is guaranteed for three years, and is prorated for six years. So hopefully I'll never have to buy a new battery for this car. I have just over two years worth of payments left, and by then it'll be eight years old. And then I can start saving up for a new car. Maybe a cute Jetta.....
