As much as I don't want my shows to stop coming (really don't), I also realize that a large part of what makes our shows great is the writing. I mean, more than half my Grey's Anatomy icons are quotes. I don't think that it is too much for the writers to get a cut out of what companies make when people buy the episodes online or watch them for free online (those adds they force us to watch give them money that should be shared). And asking for 8 cents instead of 4 cents for every $20 DVD sold isn't that much of a raise. Give it to them, they deserve it. They shouldn't be forced to stay with a contract made in the 80's before DVD's and the Internet were even around.
The Corporations should just give in. The WGA isn't going to back down and they have the support of the SAG and the Fans. It would save them time and PR if they just actually tried to negotiate.

"If the fans want to support the actors and the writers, do not download shows on the Internet. Don’t watch them, because the writers aren't paid for them."

"We want to support these writers and what they do. They are the artists behind the words that the actors and performers speak every week. They’re the ones who have made this show such a huge success. It’s just incredible what they’ve done over the past four seasons. They should be compensated for their talent. They just want an equitable share of this huge pie."
