Camping Trip Pictures

I had a great time last weekend galavanting through the North Carolina wilderness in search of waterfalls. Although it was supposed to rain most of the weekend, it only dropped on us a total of maybe 5 minutes.

We went to several falls that required some trail/path hiking, and several that had very easy access as well. All in all the total distance we hiked was around 12 miles.

I found a great camping spot early Friday afternoon that was near a Forest Service road and located right next to a picturesque little stream. It served as a good base of operations, with plenty of campfire action for winding down during the night.

Campsite

hoplessart getting ready in the morning.

Small waterfall seen hiking through the woods.

Trail hiking.

Twin Falls.

Courthouse Falls (my favorite I think)

Dry Falls (called Dry because you can walk behind it without getting too wet)

Looking Glass Falls

Silver Run Falls (an awesome spot for swimming)

Cooling Down at Wildcat Falls (I think)

Sliding Rock Falls (guess why they call it that!)

Whitewater Falls (411 feet and the largest falls East of the Rockies)

I took a lot of pictures, but those are some of my favs. Stay tuned for more.
