Salene smiled when the big piece of wood got close to the wall and started to lean it, trying to get it to cover the air vent so they could block off the cold air a bit, it was too cold in here. "Just a bit, lean in at the top, here, like, yeah like that," she said, then pulled away, "Ahh," she said, brushing her hands off. "Hopefully that will block the cold air from hitting us full force, maybe it'll warm up in here once the sun is out," she was sounding almost cheerful, even thinking about the sun didn't bring her down, she was forcing herself to forget about the sunlight, any light, and was focusing on surviving, and well, Bray was right, being strong was best and it made her feel better. Once she had learned to survive down here, she'd be able to get out better, at least she hoped so.
"How's your wound?" she asked, moving towards him, trying to forget her awkward moments, her strained feelings towards him, she had to help take care of him until he could do it himself, he needed her, he was right and she wouldn't let him down. "Are you still feeling weak? We should eat you know," her stomach was rumbling, "You'll get some of your strength back and heal faster if you aren't half starved," she was sounding motherly but she couldn't help it, it was her nature, and though she'd had a bad start to her morning, she was feeling a bit more chipper than before, though not 100%.
