Salene rolled over in her bed, she'd opted not to wake Pride last night after dinner, he'd been so tired lately and she wanted him to have as much rest as he could get without any interference from her. She'd carried Mouse to bed last night after she'd fallen asleep during all of the dinner conversation, she was so adorable and sweet, and Salene knew she'd be grown up like Cloe soon, and because of that she treasured every moment with her, no matter what. Thinking of Cloe, where had that girl got off to? She wasn't in her room last night, she wasn't at dinner, and now it seemed as if she'd disappeared again, and this of course worried Salene, but maybe the search parties would find her, once more.
She had a lot of work to do today and though she liked to cook, she could smell the food going in the cafe and she felt relieved, as she was grateful not to have to concentrate on anything but the city for now. Salene didn't know where to start, but she knew she needed some food and then she needed to take May to her office and talk about whatever pressing matter it was that she'd wanted to talk about last night. The look on her face worried Salene, and she wondered if May would be willing to help her, since she seemed so knowledgeable about certain things, but she hated when May put herself down and talked about not being wanted here. If that were true, she wouldn't be in the Mall, at least in Salene's mind that's how it worked.
And Mouse, she wanted to help but Salene was afraid for her, she was cunning and independant, self reliant, but there was a lot of danger in the city right now, people going crazy, doing strange things and they didn't know what the Techno's were planning next, if anything at all. Salene felt so protective of Mouse, but she knew she couldn't hold her down. Ugh, too many thoughts at once for so early in the morning, so much planning before she'd even gotten out of bed, and she needed food if she was going to get any strength to face the long and arduous day ahead of her.
Salene pulled herself up, straightening her clothes out and running a brush through her hair, getting the strays to lie down. She checked her makeup and the markings she liked to wear by her eyes, took a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to get her mind centered before she entered the crazy world one more time. When she felt awake enough, she headed for the cafe, wondering who she'd find there, and what was cooking.
