Ved wasn't the violent kind of person usally, just we he got angry. But she understood what Salene was saying and nodded about that also. Cloe really wanted Ved to stay. He made her feel safe. Like Ryan had made her feel before. "Can he be a Mallrat, Salene?"
Cloe looked down and nodded when she spoke about Ryan. It did make her upset that Salene didn't love Ryan the way she used to. She'd have her own little chat with Patsy later about this. She wasn't going to be happy, at all. She expected to come back to the Mall and find a family. Boy, was she in for a major shock and a half.
A small 'meow' was heard from somewhere in the room. She sat up and looked to the floor. Scurrying paws could be heard on the floor and within a moment, the little black and white kitten known as Daisy, hopped onto the bed.
"Daisy!" Cloe said louder than she had spoken for quite some time. She picked her up and patted her. She needed more food. She'd tell Salene about that. But instead of writing, Daisy gave Cloe the ability to speak.
"This is Daisy. I found her after I fell. She needs some food." Cloe spoke in a tone above a whisper.

Cloe shook her head whne Salene asked if she had eaten. "I can't. Mys tomach, it's still in knots. I don't know about you, but killing people sometimes takes my apetite away." She needed to talk to Patsy sometime. But it was late. Although Cloe wanted to stay with Salene, she thought Ved would want to be with her tonight.
"I'll try to give her some bread. Would broth from the stew be good for her?" Cloe had always had a special place in her heart for animals. Giving up her food for them. Sneaking out of the Mall to feed them. It sometimes got her in trouble, but it was always a risk she was willing to take.
Daisy walked over the bed and then Came back to Cloe. She pawed at her. Probably wanted some food.
"She's hungry." Cloe said quietly. "Thanks Sal." Cloe became quiet as she gave Salene a hug. She got off the bed and walked out of the room and down to the cafe.
