I just had a wave of depression sweep over me, and at first I was worried but then I realized that
1. Today I drank a complimentary Coke in the Betts auto showroom while reading Redbook.
2. Then my mom and I ate lunch in Valley Junction and looked at overpriced antiques and Halloween collectibles.
3. Then I read Juice on the ride home.
4. My sister is currently watching 7th Heaven and the storyline today concerns lovable, mentally-handicapped adults.
5. A commercial for Decision 2006: Hardball Style (tagline "No one covers the election like Chris Matthews") just came on.
6. Our generation's apparent "first official revolution" is over a social-networking website.
Nevertheless, some things are still good:
1. I bought a sweet book from 1969 entitled Kitsch: The World of Bad Taste.
2. I am getting a haircut in T minus 15 minutes.
3. I leave for Evanston on Saturday morning.
And some things are hilarious:
1. The creator of the "Students against Facebook News Feed (Official Petition to Facebook)" group, which I believe is the biggest of these groups, went on my Croatia trip with me. He is pretty annoying, makes growling noises while pooping, is writing a science-fiction novel, loves George W. Bush, and looks like a short, half-Thai snowman. See #6 on reasons I'm depressed right now.
