I just finished my first application. As much as it's like "Okay, bring the stress and anxiety," I actually feel quite calm about it. Yale is by no means my first choice, but still. It's going. Tomorrow.
I also just requested information from Dickinson and Stonehill, since my dad and McGrath are like "oh, well, apply to more schools so you have more choices." I might as well apply to schools that are good, right? Liz raves about Stonehill so there has to be SOME reason why :). PLUS, it has criminal justice as a major, so i could double major in that and Psych, which is what I'd have to do to become a criminal psychologist (der). So it's beginning to look pretty good to me, too. The only other schools with criminal justice are Le Moyne and St John's University and I refuse o attend St John's because I refuse to marry a Growing Up Gotti wannabe. Anyway, I was interested in Dickinson for awhile; I was told by someone (can't remember) that if I liked Gettysburg, I'd like Dickinson. Well, there ya go.
So today we went up to Maine to visit my dad's friend Rafael (war buds). It was nice, but at some points it was miserable, because all they talked about with my mom and Maureen (Rafeal's wife) was war this and war that. It got kind of depressing. They're dog was cute, though, the second you stopped petting it it would stick it's nose under your arm a couple of times. If you didn't pet her IMMEDIATELY thereafter, she'd go on to someone else. Then come back to you. She's a golden retriever and probably weighs a good 100 lbs, but while I was sitting in a chair she jumps up and puts her two front legs over mine and just sits there like that. For ten minutes. It was cute.
Oh, and the shaggy-haired, scruffy men you see at the Kittery Trading Post are, you guessed it, gorgeous.
I'm going to go. I have work in the morn. Nightie night.
