You're right - we can't all afford to be miserable and bitter and vengeful, we must hold to the moments of happiness we can find/ grab/ create or our struggles will be meaningless. Because we will struggle. This is the beginning.

part of me agrees with you sentiment about staying in america but I think I might selfishly go run and ride anyway. I feel it would be safer to live somewhere else that isn't holding up a big bulls-eye and/or threatening to draft me. Who wants to stay in rome while it's burning?

I had those same leaving the country and then staying to fight in the country thoughts. Which makes me happy that I'd think that, and I've learned that I'm a down-with-the-ship kind of person. Unless we really start to get crazy.
