For Maureen

[Timed for Saturday, Feb 2]

This wasn't a date, it was a - well, Sirius didn't know what it was, but it definitely wasn't a date. Sirius didn't know how to date. He could remember some sort of dating he'd done with Remus, only it was a whole lot different than conventional dating. He and Jane had skipped the whole dating thing. She'd gone on a date with Chase once, if he recalled correctly, but there was never any of that sort of thing done between Sirius and Jane.

Sirius didn't want to think about that. He couldn't stop himself, though. Even as he stood in front of the mirror in the loo, he couldn't stop. Everyone was happy, or so it seemed, even fucking House had someone, or rather, several someones. Padme and Jay had a baby, and it felt like every other woman on the island was pregnant. Sirius had stopped even approaching women too much because he didn't want to see that look in their eyes, that happy look that he felt belonged to someone else.

Admitting that he actually liked Maureen wasn't easy. In fact, he'd rather just deny it as it felt like a betrayal to Jane. But, even if Jane were to come back, she wouldn't know him so where the fuck would that leave him? Hopefully it would leave him going back home, even if that meant things that he'd rather just ignore.

So since this wasn't a date, he was definitely not shaving, at least not to the point that would make it look like he'd made the attempt. That didn't mean that he hadn't picked a shirt from the clothing box that didn't say "Now that you're down here, you might as well suck my dick" at the bottom. The clothing box had provided, instead, a black to-shirt that proclaimed that chicks hated him on the back. How appropriate.

He went to go find Maureen after running a hand through his hair (because this was definitely not a date).
