Yeah, like probably a good half of the fandom, weak-willed little me has submitted herself to 1. all the chapter titles and 2. THE EPILOGUE SCANS OF DOOM. If you haven't and wanna see them, go over to elaboration's or fraught's LJ :-D (Come on~! Let go of your self restraint~ Weak mind loves company~)

So I am gonna talk about this epilogue a bit... )

the Ginny stuff I guess should have been the big clue, not the Draco stuff after all!

Could you blame us though? Accidental brilliance is not a common occurance. Yeah I was deliberately overlooking the Ginny stuff along with JKR's other suckiness, thought one can't ask an author to cover all grounds well. HA! Well, pity, Rowling had so much potential- like Draco Malfoy before this last HP book!

All there is to Snape is his Love for Lily, no other loyalties or friendships or emotions or morals.

Was that how it turned out? I must admit I only got second hand info regarding the Snape part (wanted to save it to tomorrow night, since the Draco arc sunk to hell and I wanted something to look forward to)... But hey, comparing Snape's one note loyalty to the fiasco that is the current Slytherin student body, it's only a mild disappointment really! Which makes me wonder how the Regulus arc was dealt with...

But now I feel like I don't want to waste a minute more of my time on something so unworthy (I don't even want to use an icon of the characters I like because it's like advertising myself as a fan of the series)

Hahaha I know exactly what you mean! When Rowling fumed over the NY Times' spoilery review this morning I was gleeful ;-P Unfortunately I would still contribute to another record breaking sales of this stupid series tomorrow, but I hope many who'd already read the scanned version will not. I will never call myself a Potter fan again. At most I'd say, oh yeah I've enjoyed some of the HP books, liked some of their characters, despite considering the story a stupid, pointless and hypocritic one overall.

I don't plan to watch the subsequent HP movies either. Well I still might, if I feel like at the time, but it's certainly not something to look forward to anymore.

Hey, don't avoid the "fandom" altogether though! Especially if by "fandom" you are including us- the defeated Slytherin fans who were brain dead enough to place our trust in Rowling to write a story that at least makes sense. For we only have each other now!!!

I scanned the Snape stuff whereas I read the Draco stuff properly, but yes, from what it seems, Snape never had any positive emotions or connections towards any people other than Lily ever, who was the reason he did everything he did. (Only in the JKRverse would this make someone a hero - imho, it makes him worse, like Dumbledore when he says he'd have let countless people die if Harry could be happy.)
But yes, Snape is a hero which is one-up on everyone else in Slytherin.
I didn't read the Regulus stuff, apparently it's quite sweet - I'm sure it could be, since he died and therefore is allowed to be an ambigious Slytherin.

I would never cut off my buddies!
But yeah, Rowling's hilarious, whining about Teh Children as if she isn't worried about Teh Money and as if the ending isn't the most insanely predictable cliched crap ever. Can't wait for her cloying post-book interview - can she top the insulting HBPs? Well, now she has no-one to impress anymore - let's see!
