The movie was mildly enjoyable, about in the same league as Christopher Walken's The Prophecy sans hilarious dialogues and with a semi-annoying female lead. ( Here come the customary bullet points )
Well . . . since you asked, my ass (along with the rest of me) is SO going to be at a Harry Potter midnight book release party at my local Border's on Friday. I really shouldn't be as excited as I am, but I'm practically bouncing at the thought. I hooked two of my other friends into going with me, and we're anxious to see if we really WILL be the oldest people there! Not that I care, since this event is going to enable me to stay up the entire night reading the book, so I can call all of my non-attendee friends first thing in the morning and threaten to tell them everything that happened.
After I'm done reading it, I'm giving that copy to my mom (who is a big fan herself at 63) and I'll get my shiny special edition version delivered to me on Saturday by Amazon.com:
This whole thing feels like a national holiday, doesn't it? No, it’s possibly is better than a holiday. Holidays are usually pretty lame to me. This is the opposite of lame.
Final thought then I'll stop gushing: I hope she doesn't kill off someone I like. I'm still sad over Sirius.
I'm gonna be at my local borders with my two 'senior' friends too, I don't think we can out-age the daddies and mommies who are bound to be there for the sake of their children- not that I mind being where the rest of my age group isn't of course ;P
Just checked and your location means you'll get the book 3 hours before me!!! But haha, I've been completely (well, almost completely) spoiled so I'm not afraid of any spoilery phone calls/emails that might or might not come my way. And I can tell you this- there'll be NO unpleasant character death for you in HBP, unless you've hidden passion for certain unthinkable character(s) that I'm entirely unaware of. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The Pretty is worthy of my greatest envy!!!one!! How can you even touch it without feeling you've infringed upon something holy X-D!!!
I am completely unspoiled, so going into this next book blind makes me really happy but really nervous. I'm glad, though, that you comment has me feeling more confident about Lupin's safety. I mean, what would happen to all of the future Snupin stories out there if Lupin was killed? The mere thought is unsettling.
I'm not too worry about Snape, though. At the end of all things, it will be the cockroaches and Snape downing tequila shooters together and being happy that everyone else in the world is finally dead.
And you know what else? There is nothing that you can do or say that will make me admit that I had a conversation just this afternoon with a friend of mine about how wonderful it is that Harry and Draco are both 16 in this next book, so that means that they have officially reached the legal age of consent.
OMG! I went and got myself even more spoiled later last night, now I'm almost bullet-proof X-D!!! Ahhhhh but I sorta regret having done so, because it would been much more fun finding out about most of the facts with my own eyes that I found out through spoilers- spoilers are only a good thing when you won't like the source material, because you get yourself prepared for disappointments that way.
Oh well.
I agree. To me a ship sinks when one or both character(s) die when neither feels anything romantic toward the other, I don't find human/ghost fics all that appealing thank you very much. As long as both Snape and Lupin are alive by the end of book 7, and neither is crazily in love with some other character by that time, Snupin sails on imo!

This made me laugh so hard. Not that I'm usually willing to compare my beloved Snape with cockroaches in any way, mind you ;-)
And your friend who you had secret H/D conversation with? Listen to her more, she's good influence.
