After having spent thousands of hours in any fandom, one tends to settle into a comfort zone and stop caring about what's going on with the rest of the fandom... I'm suddenly curious, what does the daily snitch crowd in general think of these main kid characters?

No, really, I know they got a big role and all, it's only that I think they are quite... typical for main characters. But that is my opinion, of course. :)

I agree, they are fairly typical, but the more I read fic and discuss the characters with people, analyzing the text in a way, the more I seem to find for these characters. There's more than meets the eye, really.

Also, I just find some of their features just really pleasant. Especially Ron. He's a typical funny, loyal sidekick, but I still consider him so much more and I love his character despite the stereotype-ness that he has.

And yes, if I'm honest, I must say I voted that I "liked" Ron... He is the stereotypical "second at command" who tries to gain his own worth, but he so likeable that I'm hungrily waiting for his upcoming "light" moment. We got a bit of that in OotP, and I of course *loved* it.
In truth, I don't dislike the trio per each character, but as an unit. I mean, it's so cliché... You have your main male character with his best friend and of course the girl. Now that I thought of that, DN has a quite similar scheme! (not that raito and L got to be best friends, ehhh...) *__*

I want to see a freaky DN/HP crossover with Raito, L & Misa as a trio and Ryuuk as Hagrid, hahaha. It'd have to be well-written, though.

And heh, L did say Raito-kun was the only friend he'd ever had.

And well, from your only friend to best friend, there is long road, imho. But one thing is sure, L is as likeable or more than Ron... (my L!!!!!! why!!!!!!!)

I love them both pretty equally. And to be honest, those two couldn't be more different. Not that Misa and Hermione are very similar... XD
