Why Things are the Way They Are: Part 3

Of Death and Relationships

After watching the horrible movie version of saikano, I just had to write something about it.
There's a bit of a spoiler in it, so you haven't seen it and you want to watch it, then it's a good idea to stop right now.

Not about the movie, but about the anime ( which is probably one of the best ones i've seen /ok ). Theres something about death, that brings out a certain... aspect? out of people. When someone is about to die, they aren't afraid to say what's on their mind. The things theyve kept to themselves, the things they didn't tell other people about. And right there, on their deathbed, they'll say them. Because it's their last chance to tell someone about it. They aren't worried about what people will think of them, or what'll happen after saying such things.

They just say them. Theyre honest with themselves.

Most of the time, they probably would regret not saying something earlier. Especially if it's about your feelings towards another person. ( The Akemi death scene was so not done justice in that movie. I thought it was probably the best part of the entire series. It's just raw honest emotion. "Hold me Shuuji, I don't want to die" )

And so to anyone reading this,
live your life without regrets
the future may be unfortunate
so do the things you want to do now, while you still can
as long as you have conviction in yourself, nothing will get in your way

I'll keep living my life like this,
I invite you to join me (:
