(no subject)
today i took a little walk to the museum of contemporary art. it was small but it had some nice work inside. there were about 4 gordan matta clark videos that showed in a loop... i was stuck in a 41 minute long video showing gordan making a little house in new york and then his friend playing with umbrellas...for a long time. i didnt make it to the next video, called ·splitting·
there were two artists being shown temporarily. i cannot write either of their full names. one was based in mexico city and made work about the area near his studio. the other made work about distance and measurements.
after the museum i walked back to my friend´s place. there is a wall that people paint on right by the museum, so i took some pictures for some friends.
barcelona has cooled off considerably since i arrived. not too much happens all day; my friend usually sleeps in late and stays up late. i didnt end up going to the club the other night. i told my friend that i cant handle the smoking and that was that. we stayed at the little bar under his place and the owner let me have a little spanish whiskey.
tonight we are going to go see someone else who moved to barcelona from los angeles. i dunno what else, but i have to be up by 6am at least.
i bought plinio a present... just a small one from a used bookstore nearby. everything in barcelona is nearby! it is not a large place. im glad its cooled off.
yesterday i went to a church that ´guadi´ made (the same guy who made park guell). its not a functioning church, it just looks like one. its still 20 years away from being done.
there, thats better. the last day i wrote it was difficult because there were people standing nearby making me uncomfortable. its funny, even though i am making this all public, it still makes me uncomfortable when people are watching me write it out.
