the phantom of the opera is...ohh shit, he's there!
I believe it was about every 10 minutes I was saying, "Oh my God, Oh my God!" My first one came at the very first spark of the chandelier and its ascension up into the dome of the theater. However, when the Phantom first appeared, stole Chistine and took her down into his lair was when I really wanted to scream out in sheer excitement. I loved the scenery, the costumes were extraodinary, Christine became more attractive as the show went on, and the Phantom was played with absolute perfection. I cried deeply on the inside when he was holding her vail and hearing her and Raoul sing "All I Ask of You" as they sailed away together. I was very close to tearing Cha's arm off. I absolutely loved it!!!
But the most important part was that I was with the girl I fell in love with one year ago. She was as gorgeous as could be and she wrote me the most beautiful and heartfelt letter I have ever read, written with such detail that it made the show even more powerful. Cha, I will say it now...Broadway theater is a "magical" place.
