In my ASL class you are allowed to miss one class. On Thurday, my professor showed up 45 minutes late for class. After 20 minutes, all of us left, except for 2 people (way to make us look bad, assholes). When he showed up (at 4:45--the class starts at 4--, apparently he flipped a shit because the school rule is that you have to wait 15 min per every class hour. Because our class is 3 hours, we supposedly had to wait around for 45 minutes, which none of us knew. I'm sorry ut if he was going to be 45 freakin minutes late he should have called somebody, anybody, at the school to let us know. Well, here's the problem: Hasbro Children's Hospital (one of the best pediatric hospitals in the country) is holding a Pediatric Trauma Seminar. I am the ONLY person from the LCVFD who has been selected to go. They selected people from around the state to attend, and I was the only one invited from my department. Wow, definitely an amazing thing. Yeah, well the town just paid $75 for me to attend. Not the volunteer fire department, the actual town paid for me to go. And it;s on Thursday. And I can't go because I can't miss another ASL class. Because since I left the day he was 45 minutes late, I have used up my one absence.
I emailed him 3 weeks ago to tell him that I would be missing class this Thursday to go to the thing at Hasbro. I emailed him again last Thursday to see if he had gotten my email and to remind him. I emailed him once more yesterday after I found out that he did end up showing up the day he was super late. He still has NOT responded to me. I can't call him becaue he is deaf.
I am SO frsutrated. I can't not pass ASL because I need to transfer at the end of this semester. But I can't NOT go to this thing at Hasbro, as it has already been paid for and I was selected out of all of the fire departments in the state.
