'Can't breathe. Maybe I'm already dead.. I was buried, wasn't I? Gotta be dead. I'm supposed to be dead. forgotten, gonna try and kill Tim.. Gonna go nuts..'Jason is clawing his way out of his coffin. His upper chest is out, his hands scrabbling at the dirt. It's falling into the space he's leaving behind, and starting to wedge him in. In the back ( Read more... )

Tim is fucking freaked, because he got this shovel ... when? Days ago. Forever ago. With that neat little tag and all the information he needed all around him but he never figured it out, he never asked the right people, he didn't follow it up, he was too tired and sick of everything to not let a friend fucking die this is really, really, the last fuck-up and he's afraid to even look at Robin --

"There!"

God, and there it is, the Name. No, he's not going to forget it any time soon.

He took the shovel while Tim is still apparently in a state of shock and confusion, and started to dig. "So this is where he disappeared off to," Robin grumbled.

Jason's grave is nice! Sunk in a little bit, even - the digging should be pretty easy. Underneath, Jason is still out of reach, but he's getting closer - and the sound of shovels scraping against earth around him is like heaven.

"... HEEEEY!"

Can they hear him through the dirt?

He started (guiltily) when Robin took the shovel from him, and hastily joins in.

"Jason!" Tim starts again at the dim noise from below. "Holy fuck," he says, to himself, eyes wide. "Hang in there!" God, what an asinine thing to say. But he just tries to dig faster.

He increased his digging. "We still have time, good." Robin murmured, as he threw shovelfuls of dirt away from the coffin.

Shovels.

He can hear shovels. That means he should probably wedge his hand and arm back down before...

*SMACK* "GAH!"

The good thing is that Jason's got an air hole now. The fact that he got it by catching an edge of the shovel on his palm, er, not so good. He pulls his arm all the way down the way it had come in, and takes in a great lungful of air, coughing and choking.

"Ohgod... ohgod... ohgod.. If you're the Joker up there, you'd be... better be careful. I'm a lit-lit-little crazy and not afraid to use it."

"Shit!" Tim withdraws his shovel hastily and drops to his knees to do some more careful digging with his hands.

"It's us, Jason, it's Tim...s," he shoots a guilty look over his shoulder at Robin. "Both of us. Hold on, watch your head..." He scrambles up to help Robin.

He tossed the shovel aside, and tried to pry open the casket, shooting Tim an equally guilty look. "Yes, it's us - We'll get you out of there."

Jason had pulled most of the way back down just to make sure there weren't any more shovels. His own fault for having the hand up there when they started digging, really.

With the dirt off, he's able to push the broken casket lid up and away - without the mask and Robin outfit (Yes, they put him in a nice dress suit, gah), he looks a lot less adult or imposing than he normally would. His hands are a mess, the nails pretty much all gone, and his face and neck are caked with dirt.

"... Hi. I'm Jason Todd. And I'm a fucking idiot for not telling you guys my name beforehand. How the hell did I end up in this thing?"

He's trying to stay angry - angry means he doesn't freak out.

Distractedly, Tim pulls his knife to cut part of his t-shirt off, for Jason's hand (he's assuming, anyway, that Robin's belt is not actually a Bag of Holding that contains bandages).

"Everything was fucked up. People kept -- changing, disappearing ..." Lame explanation, but he's given up trying to understand the Nexus. "Someone lost their baby." He bites his lower lip.

"Who?" Robin asked as he searched his belt, well he has at least some peroxide, it would sting, but it will also cut down on infections. "Who lost thier baby?"

"The changes were stranger then normal."

Jason gets back to his feet.. Man, he could use a bath. And maybe a red mask. Er, wait, no. He's frustrated and tired and angry and hearing about the kid getting lost, well..

"Geezus. That place loves to fuck people over, doesn't it."

He'll hold still for bandaging, and when one hand is done, it's going over Tim. Er, that Tim. Hell, either of 'em.

For support. Er, physical, and maybe moral and mental.

"Did you two get through it alright?"

"Dr. Takashima didn't say," Tim says to Robin first, moving under Jason's arm to help support him. Two, thundercrash, two Tims, ah ah ah! That's pretty reassuring to have around, right? Probably if anybody tries to mess with them, there will be excessive violence. But for right now, there's sturdy supportive Timmage and boy this would be a weird thing for Batman to see.

"I -- yeah," he sounds miserable about the fact. "How long --" he shakes his head at himself. "Probably no idea. Where should we...?"

"My apartment would be probably be the safest place for all of us right now, or least for Jason." Robin stated simply. "Wouldn't be the Ritz, but it'll do. Does that sound fine?"

"Anywhere but here, man. I ..."

Ugh. Yeah, he had to look up, see 'Jason Todd, A Good Soldier' Pretty easy to tell who paid for that tombstone.

"... I think my welcome here wore out." He doesn't know how much either of the other two know about what's supposed to happen. But it won't be the same for him, damnit. It /won't/.

"Let's... Let's go. I just need a hot shower and something to /do/ and I'll be cool."

Tim nods and tosses Robin his pinpoint, since he has it out. He does it practically without looking, too, which if he stops to think about it later will strike him as A) weird and B) creepy and C) something to carefully not do in the future. Jason's words make him vaguely uneasy, but he knows next to nothing about what's supposed to happen -- he just gets caught up in parallel waves of it from time to time.

"Anything you need."
