today i got my application from the musicians institute... i looked it over thouroughly and realized that im going to be moving very far away... and that i wont see my friends for a while. after realizing that i was very sad but i hope to stay in touch with alot of the friends i made and i even plan on comin back to texas eventually, but as i come up to graduation, this is something that i just have to do. im very excited to go to california and STUDY AND PLAY MUSIC FOR COLLEGE! whats better than playing guitar all day? im really going to miss all the friends i have made in houston and corpus, and the experiences that ive shared with everyone, i personally treasure each one. i would really like to make a triuphant return and impress everybody with all the education that im gonna be getting at git. a kid in my class today said i was gonna get famous someday, i laughed at him and told him he's crazy but it gave me a feeling of deep satisfaction inside... i hope to do my time in california and be able to have new experiences to share with new people and get my associate of arts occupational degree, which would take up to 18 months... so that should be interesting. i have to send in a recording of myself, playing AT LEAST two scales and two arpeggios of my choice which has to include a metronome or a drum machine loud enough for them to hear, also including AT LEAST 60 seconds of rhythm groove in any style and any tempo, two or three songs in any style that best represent my abilities (can play with band or other musicians), and record my speaking voice with a short narrative telling them why i want to attend the musicians institute. personally i dont have a problem with any of these requirements for the recording, but i have no clue how im gonna get it all on a cd or tape, i hope someone at sound vibes or gc can help me out with that...so here i am finding myself typing this entry and having to finish my homework so i can graduate from this wretched school. recently ive really turned around my grades which is good but for some reason im not satisfied so here i reside studying and doing all my homework, which has become my daily regiment now...i hope to be able to have a couple more experiences with my good friends before i get out of here...
