I was also hospitalized for anorexia so i understand somewhat what you're going through (it's very different for everyone, I think). First and foremost you need to stop thinking in terms of fat/skinny. Because when it comes down to it, it's all about health. And at your weight, you are not healthy. Your body keeps you moving every day and it needs the proper nourishment. You are not fat/will not get fat/ are still very skinny. Second, if your parents are making you uncomfortable maybe you should talk to them and explain that it makes it difficult for you to eat right with them breathing down your neck all the time. But do this nicely because they only care about you a lot. Third, are you seeing a nutritionist? I'm assuming you are because you are in outpatient (yup, i know the routine). Maybe you should talk to her about a good meal plan? Fourth: the sugar obsession. This happens to me when I'm not eating enough of everything else during the day. Granted I still get in my ice cream/fro yo (hey, we're human! we are allowed to enjoy food sometimes!) but I dont make a night out of it anymore. This is partly because I'm eating better and partly because I discovered my emotional links to food: sugar takes the place of a lonely night pretty well.. then i can focus on how disgusting I feel rather than how upset I am about something. Does this sound familiar at all? Take care and good luck to you! if you'd like to talk more please let me know and we can email or something! <3 and support!
I think this was a very helpfull reply. If not to the original person, then at least to me. Ive been freaking out because I had a treat tonight. But it's not something I do ALL the time, and so it's okay. I think the lonely thing is true too, I like to obsess about things when I dont want to face emotion. Thanx for making me feel less alone :)
