i am so thankful to have had such an awesome, awesome thanksgiving. having ailing grandparents is painfully difficult to watch but it was wonderful to have all 3 of my grandparents here for thanksgiving. as some of you know my grandmother on my dad's side had fallen 2 years ago and had an infection smoldering in her arm ever since. they removed a lot of tissue and bone and sealed her up. she was in a rehab for almost 4 weeks. then when she got home we had to come over 3 times a day to do picc line injections. i knew there was a reason i did not get into health care. i was a nervous wreck. a few days after my grandmother was home my grandfather had another heart attack. they are both doing as good as they can. and now my grandmother on my moms side was just diagnosed with dementia & alzheimer. i know how painful this is going to get as my great grandfather had alzhimers as well. so, i have a feeling this is going to be my last thanksgiving with all my grandparents. it was a very special day. instead of the 6 people that i thought were coming, 11 family members were here.
on my health front, i am sick of these mother funking shingles!! one side of foot healed but now i have new foot herpes on the other side (like, on my instep which is AWESOME) and they are still spreading. it's going to leave some nice scarring :P BUT! i am FINALLY, after 9 months & the 3rd round of medication, SALMONELLA FREE! i have to re test in a month or so but i am even feeling better. crohn's is in remission still. currently off the 6mp while i try and shake the shingles.
still shacked up at my parents but it's ok really. i am not going to move out until my mom finishes school in may and has started a new job. i don't mind helping them out financially for the time being and i hope to get some more credit card debt paid off. as long as i have my kids i am ok really :)
i hope everyone is well and had a wonderful holiday!
