It seems that since the release of Volks' Cecil the Scarface, there have been a number of copycats. (Hey, I still want to make that Sleepy Yder with his eyes scarred shut, but ...) It's interesting, is all, and I haven't heard back from Akiko of Vitta Vera on whether or not Ichii has arrived yet (it's been two days, and I shipped first class priority, which means 2/3 day shipping!) and instead of angsting or actually doing something productive, I'm going to rable, okay?
I know one person (aramelia?) did a pirate!elf!Yder-SS mod, using the same theme as the one-eyed Cecil version. (If I remember correctly, there was also an open-eye version, which I believe may have been the rarer of the Scarface Cecil versions.)
Then there was the Royal Guard Yder from Cerberus Project. No scars on his face, but a gouge on his hand, which was actually part of the sculpt. - That's what I'm covering here, scars that are sculpted, not just painted. (I know of at least one doll with painted on scars from before Cecile the Scarface was released, but I'm sure there were more.)
Now, there's a repaint by Twilight Zone of an F-16 with a scar over his eye, a la Scarface Cecile.
Interseting how some things "catch on" in a fandom, while some do not. (Also, amazing that in a fandom just overflowing with "omg noes, you idea/web/art thief!" that copying something very distinctive like this isn't frowned upon, but some face-up artists ask not to be sent refrences.)*
