Waking up one morning, you have made a design for a pair of pants in your head. So you enthusiastically get out of bed, pick a fabric and search for a pattern to use as a reference to start from (I have too little sewing experience to just make my own pattern from scratch, so I need to use a pattern and then adjust it to my wishes).
You then have to take you measurements to know what size you have to make (such patterns don't always agree with the sizes you buy in stores) and that is the moment to get depressed: you don't even fit the biggest size :S
But you are creative, so you think of a solution (make some extra flaps in the sides of the hips, so you can close them with a string, which makes the hips more adjustable in size and it's stretchy fabric anyways) and start drawing the pattern and cut the fabric.
Of course you want to make it more special than just a plain pair of pants (doing some embellishment seams), making it harder to sew (why start easy, right?). So after two days of sewing (I never said I was fast or anything) the fabric is turning into a pants shape and you try them on to see how they fit(thinking: "hopefully they are not too small").
And what happens? ... It is actually about 3 sizes too big!
So now I have to try to make it smaller and I fear the cool strings will have to go (else I have to get the whole, well almost, thing apart again and I don't feel like it (I have already thought of another solution anyways)).
I'm kinda annoyed right now. Anyways, off to bed for now...
